Every GEO Check, Across 16 Categories

Glippy scores each page with 240+ individual checks grouped into 16 weighted categories - spanning technical readiness, machine readability, citability, agent interactivity, and content quality. Explore what each category measures and how to improve it.

Technical & structural readiness

Ten categories cover whether AI crawlers and agents can reach, parse, and act on your pages. Each links to a dedicated guide with the exact checks Glippy runs.

Content quality

Six categories evaluate whether your writing earns citations once AI can read it - the substance, sourcing, and structure that LLMs reward.

Beyond the score: live AI crawler access

Every category above is graded from the page itself. The live AI crawler access check instead measures your server: on demand, Glippy sends 12 real requests for the same URL from one IP, differing only in User-Agent, and reports which AI crawlers were served and which were refused. Because a lone 403 can just mean a bad IP reputation, only a difference between those same-IP requests counts as evidence, and the check says "could not tell" rather than guessing. It runs in the Chrome extension and as the check_agent_access tool in the MCP server.

How scoring works

Each category is scored 0-100 from its individual checks, then combined with the weights shown above into a single GEO score and an A-F grade. Higher-weight categories like Structured Data and Machine Readability move your score the most; emerging-standard checks (WebMCP and the agent-discovery surfaces) are scored as a bonus, so they lift your score when present without penalizing you when absent. For the complete, itemised list of every check, see the full check reference.
